Exciting News!
I am really delighted to announce that I am working with Rebeka Russell at Manderley Press to bring out a new edition of Jameson’s novel The Moon Is Making in 2026. Manderley Press are an independent publishing house who make incredibly beautiful books which focus on ideas around place, country and city. Jameson’s novel about Whitby will make the perfect addition to their catalogue, especially as Rebeka is a local gal! This is something that we have been cooking up together since the Press was launched in 2021 and we could not think of any better way to announce this news than at the inaugural Whitby Literary Festival this November. We will be in conversation about the process, Rebeka’s amazing journey in setting up and running her own press from her kitchen table during lockdown and our love of Storm at Hetty and Betty’s. We can’t wait – get your ticket here and join us!
War, Nation and Europe in the Novels of Storm Jameson (2020)
I have been researching the novelist Storm Jameson since I was an undergraduate at Sussex. My first book is about her novels of World War Two and she was a major catalyst in my finding and beginning work on my second book on the British writers who helped hundreds of refugees come to Britain in World War Two. In fact, it was Jameson herself as President of English PEN who spearheaded this work.
You can read more about Jameson and her life on the site I set up to tell her story and to promote her writing.
